almost as pleased as i am to learn that you're going to read [i:14dxx12s]saint morrissey[/i:14dxx12s]. just you wait, jimmy. soon you'll be wondering why you didn't order it the first time i recommended it.

never thought you'd ever read it? my god, why [i:14dxx12s]not[/i:14dxx12s]?!
no words exist intense enough to describe my love for those books.

now that i'm here, i suppose i should answer the original question.
i'm reading [i:14dxx12s]the black cauldron[/i:14dxx12s] by lloyd alexander. it's the second in a series of books for children called, [i:14dxx12s]the prydain chronicles[/i:14dxx12s]. i read the first book, [i:14dxx12s]the book of three[/i:14dxx12s], when i was ten. as a teenager, i saw it in a book store and bought it because i'd never finished reading it. it was hidden away in a closet for many years, and i found it again a couple of months ago. after i finished it, i learned there are more, and when one has read the first book in a series, one should always read the others ([i]ahem[i], mabel). so, dutifully, i ordered the other four from amazon. i hope to finish them by mid-april.

lol, I will! I will! I'll run out and buy all of them soon.

And it's a textbook reason why I wasn't much of a reader when I was younger. According to my Children's Lit textbook, I am "alliterate" (can read but won't) and I was always "unengaged" while reading.

I've read a few of the Prydain Chronicles too....and wrote a few book reports years ago, but I don't remember a thing about the stories! Oh noes. :(

Am in the last 50 pages of Heavier than heaven.

I'm enjoying it but, however much I enjoy a book I always want onto the next one.

Not sure if I want to read John Barrowmans book next anymore.

I haven't read [i:3j9h4wvt]all[/i:3j9h4wvt] of them. I need to make up for my lack of reading as a child. I do have all of those Prydain books. My cousins used to live in this house with us and they left a lot of book for us. See? I bet you copies of the series aren't as old as these, right?

I also bought this recently:

I'd love to get the Dr. Seuss books.

He's already married and has kids...

He's supposedly got another movie coming out sometime in the future.

What of his books have you read?

I've read the Sandman series, American Gods, Good Omens, Stardust (not the graphic novel though, but saw the movie), Neverwhere, Coraline, The Wolves in the Walls, and MirrorMask (and saw the movie). I don't care if he's married and has kids. I'm married and I have a kid. I'd still at the very least make out with him (for days).

Ha ha. I just read Smoke And Mirrors, I'm working my way through American Gods, and next will be Neverwhere. I'd like to get my hands on Good Omens next, after that I want to start collecting Sandman. I downloaded some of them a while back but LOST everything, computer crashed.

I enjoyed the Japanese folk tale he and Amano re-created.

I forgot all about Smoke and Mirrors. The Japanese one was the one about the fox, right? The artwork in that was beautiful.

Smoke and mirrors was entertaining, but some of the stories were a little boring...

Yeah, it's the one about the fox. The writing was by Neil Gaiman, the art was by Yoshitaka Amano, he's great.

I don't know anything about your taste in books, but have you heard of Aimee Bender? If not, you might like her. Her short stories remind me of Neil Gaiman a little bit. They're a little more morbid though. But in a good way.
