Every week I'm gonna post an album that I really enjoy for you guys to download and try.
This is a relatively new band called Carontte. A really nice blend between Post-Rock and Post-Metal. Sounds intimidating with the "metal" in there, but it's real easy on the ears.

Carontte - As Grey As They Said [2010]

I can believe that. The search function for the community is unimpressive, to say the least.

One of the best emo albums of all time, when emo was actually emo.

The Appleseed Cast - Mare Vitalis [2000]

PS. Let me know if you guys download these and what you think about them, so I can get a better idea of the kind of stuff you'd rather listen to. I'm curious, as well.

Downloading these now...

Downloaded both of these, but have only listened to Carontte so far...
I REALLY like this, I think so far "From Red Horizons" is my favorite off the album. It reminds me of the YYY's sans vox.
I'll listen to the other later after I wake up. :>

Yeh, I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to that album. It's rare to listen to a record these days for the first time and are blown away. Believe it or not, they're a brand new band.

I can't imagine you liking the Appleseed Cast album too much. Just can't see you getting into emo at all.

I still haven't listened to it yet but I just woke up and have been getting ready for the day. I don't know exactly what Emo is, but what emo songs I have heard, I think I've liked.
Admittedly, I've downloaded a couple of songs on Rockband that marked "emo," and I really liked them.
This one is my favorite.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ0dLX9wFp8

I love the spacey sounding guitar part that starts at about 0:18.

Like I said, I don't know what emo is (as far as genres are concerned) but when I think emo I think Tickle me Pink, My Chemical Romance, and Fallout Boy.
I have to admit, I like all 3 of those bands (the music, not the members. Don't give a shit about them really) but I never listen to them, can't afford to get caught listening to them! ha.

I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music. I just don't always show it. :>

Then you should definitely listen to that album because the bands you listed are not true emo, though they may have had an emo influence. I'll also post the best emo compilation I've ever heard so you can get a better sense of what the genre really is (or I should probably say was).

Images don't work here! Nor do attachments, I don't think.

I'm downloading that right now, though.
I enjoy compilation albums.

I dunno, they all show up for me, even the ones I haven't posted myself. So I figure other people can see them too. I dunno why you can't. Maybe your web browser.

You can message me on Last.fm. I'm not very good at guessing games.

Anyway, that compilation was one of my favorite albums when I was sixteen, and I don't listen to a lot of comps. Let me know what you think.

I like comps because I get a wide variety on one cd. I get exposure to a ton of different things at once. I can branch out from it.
Like when I buy some random music magazine and it comes with a CD with a ton of bands on it. I LOVE that. Sometimes I buy the magazine just for the CD.

Surprise me? I don't really care what's in my avatar. lulz.

Also I'm listening to Mare Vitalis. I really like it so far. Almost finished with it. So far "Fishing the Sky" is my favorite. I love it! Thanks Kellers. :>

This is like Post-Rock meets Electronic meets Pop. It's what I imagine Sigur Rós would sound like if they were English.

My favorite Contemporary Classical artist. 23 years old from Iceland, making beautiful string/piano (with drums and bass, occasionally) instrumentals. Track 7 is soooo gorgeous. This is his new one, out today in iTunes.
