[i:38dszm3a]very far away from anywhere else[/i:38dszm3a] by ursula k. le guin and [i:38dszm3a]brave new girl[/i:38dszm3a] by louisa luna.

i haven't read the latter, but from what i've heard it's very good. i love [i:38dszm3a]the perks of being a wallflower[/i:38dszm3a], by the way.

I'll check the first one out first. But it's so tiny! 87 pages!

I dunno. Someone's commentary on Amazon said their paperback was 87. Even so 130 is still kinda small too though.

I will take a look, thank you.
I've been all about books since Michigan and I've just now realized what a small collection I have and I'm disappointed.

Stephenie Meyer.

I know you think the film folk are ugly and all but honestly...

When I'm reading Twilight I float away.

You should read Neil Gaiman books. Mostly American Gods, Anansi Boys, and Good Omens.

Kafka on the shore or the wind up bird chronicals by Haruki Murakami are both really good

You have probably read it already, but Animal Farm is one of my favorite books. It is super short too, about 100 or so pages

Yes, I read it for school when I was in the seventh grade, but I haven't read it since. Maybe I'll check it out again.

Read the short story [i:1rra8jr4]Masque of the Red Death [/i:1rra8jr4]by Edgar Allan Poe. Its not a novel but its an incredible short story full of the strange and weird.

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer (the entire series)

Bergdorf Blondes By Plum Sykes-easy read over petty material girls yet its funny. Good for entirely mindless read for a lazy afternoon.

David Sedaris is in the vein of Augusten Burroughs, though you've probably already checked him out if you're a reader.

One of my favorite novels is the [i:2d4aklyg]The Time Traveler's Wife[/i:2d4aklyg] by Audrey Niffeneggar. It's maybe 500 pages in paperback, but not hard to get into and really a breathtaking love story. Not as sci-fi as it sounds.

I also recommend Miranda July if you like short stories. She has one collection called [i:2d4aklyg]No One Belongs Here More Than You[/i:2d4aklyg] that may be a bit on the strange side, but well-written as hell.

Oh man, I love David Sedaris! I actually laugh out loud when I read him, not many people make me do that.

They are all pretty funny, but Naked is a good one to start with

Other than Barrel Fever, which I think is a bit all over the place, go with any of his stuff. He's just amazing. But my personal favorite is the most popular one, [i:3kokye06]Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim[/i:3kokye06].

I read that years ago, never forgot it. I have a collection of all his works and I read it about once a week, it still captures my attention everytime.

David Sedaris is a funny author but also Michael Ian Black released a collection of hysterical essays called [i:3095bviv]My Custom Van[/i:3095bviv], that I loved.

Young Goodman Browne is a great story too full of imagery and hate for the puritans. I think his family were puritans and that's why he harbored so much ill will for them.

it's amazing with that short story how he packs so many themes and meanings into such little text!
in my lecture about it, i remember being very impressed!
