Because a friend of mine found one in her kitchen that was black with a red dot on the bottom and white stripes around it. Does it sound like a dangerous one?

I'd try not to touch that one... or any one, for that matter. I think most vibrantly coloured animals are supposed to be dangerous somehow.

There's one in my room but it's beige. *shivers*

I always used to think that there weren't any dangerous spiders in Michigan, but I guess I was wrong.

There is a bird called the "ptooie" bird, it got it's name because some explorer was lost in the jungle, found one, and tried to eat it out of desperation while it was still alive, feathers and all. It ended up tasting so bad he promptly spit it back out, and named it the "ptooie bird" (apparently he was the first person to actually discover it, so I guess he get's to name it.) because "ptooie," is the classic, cliche "spitting," sound effect...

Lots of fish are poisonous, but actually I think most of the poisonous ones are dull colored, like puffer fish and lion fish. Also rock fish.

Some conch thingies have pretty shells and are very poisonous, the shells are coveted for their beauty, divers DIE from being stung by them when trying to collect them for their shells.
You'd think they'd learn not to fuck with them...

Amphibians too. Like frogs and shit.

I love spiders.
I have one!

Apparently crane flies could be dangerous....like REALLY dangerous...if they could puncture skin.

We're over-run with these things atm;

because of the harvesting.

yes they are meant to be quite dangerous.

have you seen ricky gervais' animals?

him acting out a crane fly is really funny but its true though what he says about them being pointless creatures if their 1 cool ability is to administer poison, but they aren't able to puncture human skin. PHEW!!!

I think I need a cat.

But I'm surprisingly calm with this spider in my room right now. As long as it doesn't move, I think I'll be fine. I hope it's not laying eggs over there. A few months ago, eggs hatched. THEY WERE FUCKING EVERYWHERE. TINY SPIDERS, all over my motherfucking room.

"Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking [spiders in my] motherfucking [room]! "

I slept downstairs for a week until they went away somewhere.

he did spit a leg out though that creeped me out *(creeped me out or crept me out?) so i hoovered it up

A friend of mine found it in her house. They're going to have to use a bug bomb or something. You never have just one spider.

Kayla you should tell you friend that if she catches one (preferrably dead) and takes it to a local
exterminator they can tell her what it is.

I would recommend a cat, but it depends on their personality I guess.
Cause I have a cat and she just chases pests and plays with them like they're her friends.
And I have a spider problem in my apartment, and she doesn't help at all

She took it to a vet who told her it was a black widow. I'm not sure exactly what she's going to do about it, but I do know that she doesn't really want her kids in the house until she gets it taken care of. Like I said, there's never just one.

both are okay. although, 'creeped' is more common in american-english.

We live in a woodsy area and have quite a few spiders.
Never saw a widow, up close, but I don't think they're common in this area anyway.
Hopefully your friend can get rid of them, sooner rather than later. those things are nasty. Dx

I've seen one or two violin spiders though, and my mom has told me about a friend of hers getting bitten by one.
Honestly, spiders don't bother me much, but we've had them crawling on the wall bigger than the palm of my hand.
That, will make me shiver in the corner. I'm more freaked out by the big spiders than the dangerous ones, what's wrong there?
I like watching the smaller ones though, and pulling apart the webs and looking at them.
Bugs have always fascinated me, it pisses the men off that I don't run away screaming when they bring one towards me. Haha.

But yeah, getting a cat may help a bit, but as Hollylvssw said, it will depend. We've got two, one reacts like hers and plays with them then walks off.
The other plays a bit, then eats them, or parts of them at least. I tend to find moths without their wings and spiders just missing legs.
But it does kill them, so it doesn't really matter, I guess. XD

I was gonna guess black widow. When I lived in California we had two in our garage.

My friend was tutoring (is that spelled right?) at an elementary school, little kids and stuff, and I came with her one day when the summer was right around the corner. We were taking stuff off the walls, paintings and things the kids had made, that's when I discovered a black widow hanging over me from the roof, I was standing on a latter, and totally freaked out.

That was not a good thing to do. The kids totally freaked out. I never went back there.

^ ha my two biggest fears are spiders and really really tall people/creatures/monsters

this past halloween some friends and I went to this haunted house ( it was ok) but I didn't scream once

until I was cornered in this room with a man on stilts dressed up as a goblin.........I was horrified

There was a huge ass spider in the girls locker room at school today...it was fucking huge.
One of the girls started crying & was blubbering about it for at least an hour.

I have a friend who cried when i put a stuffed-animal plus spider on her head.
I don't get people's irrational fear of all spiders, but I hear it has something to do with how we evolved. Spiders bad for cavemen or smthing agfsadf
