He had to wear a paper cup on his head to keep his ears up originally.
I know a mini-version, I can't remember what the type of dog is called, they look way cooler with long tails and up-ears.

It's what we do here. Cut the tail, put the ears up.
There's some reason behind it, it's so people won't have anything to grab onto if he's attacking. Something like that.
I don't know, I'm not too educated on dawgzzz.

I have a cat here, and a dog at my dad's, which is over 250 miles from where I live.

My best friend/roommate has tons of animals, though. Another cat, three rats, a turtle and a mouse. She would have more, but her boyfriend and I try to limit it. Our apartment smells pretty bad already, y'see...

At least my room is safe. Even though one of the cats is mine, I keep my door closed and keep them out of here most times. That's just because I'm actually allergic (though I medicate) and like to have a little haven with less cat dander.

My dog, when she was a puppy - http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u318/rocksome/zoe.jpg[/url:1qs40sbu] - like, hell, I dunno. A lot of years ago. I was in high school then, so more than five years. Weird to think she's that old already.

My big dumb (and lovable) cat - http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u318/ro.../0209092020.jpg[/url:1qs40sbu]

my special westie! Her ears never went up, my dad suggested the tape thing, I think he was only half serious. She was never intended to be a show dog and I like her ears like this.

I met a Doberman yesterday, 4 month old I think she was. She was glugging up water from a bowl, it got everywhere, it was hilarius. But then she jumped up at me so then it wasn't so funny. Daaaaaaaaaaschuuund! up there ^ I love them! The cat in the food bowl is sooo cuuuute!

My mom named this dog "Too Many" because she's a fagget and because at the time, we had "too many dogs."

She's not a weeny dog, she can stretch out pretty long though. She's a mutt.

I had just gotten hone from work and found her on my bed, I just threw my jacket and all the contents of my pockets onto the bed.

But yeah my room is pretty cluttered. I tend to er, collect all my dirty clothes in a pile in the corner. :>

I DON'T HAVE A BASKET TO PUT THEM IN OK

I don't think she'd fit or want to get in a bed that's sheltered like that. Maybe I'll just shell out and use her birthday as an excuse, she's had the same one since she was a baby!

Here she is! It's not usually in the living room, but she was recovering from an operation and wasn't allowed to jump up on the sofas incase the stitches broke. She had a tumour but it was benign. She looks fat in this picture, she's not honest!

Aww Vicky your kitties are adorable!
I'm sad today, I took my baby kittie to the doctor yesterday for a regular visit,
and they did some "deep ear cleaning" on her and now she has Horner's syndrome :(
(Apparantly ear cleanings can cause that in some cats)
I feel just awful for her, she keeps falling over and she's all dizzy and can't walk straight

Lucie is adorable! There are these really good toys called Kongs that you can smear peanut butter and stuff inside or put treats inside so they prefer chewing them then things they're not supposed to. Well that's the theory.

Horner's can be treated: the condition often resolves after 6-8 weeks. Thank you google. Hope she gets better!

I guess it depends on the cat, sometimes it can be, and other times it can clear up in a week or two.
The Doc said she's not in pain and she doesn't act like it, but she's all wobbly and it's just sad
to see her like that

I'm glad I found this thread.

I grew up with animals, but have never had a pet when I've been living on my own. I really miss it, but I live in an apartment, third floor, so I didn't wanna get a cat, because it wouldn't be able to go outside. BUT, then I talked to a friend of mine that has rescues two cats from an animal shelter, and they are not allowed to go outside because they have been homeless and suffered outside. So I decited that I'm gonna get a cat! Or two! I'm so excited, I miss my cats at home so much.

A question. Should I get one or two? Some cats come in couples, and some cats cannot live with other animals. I'm not sure what I want. If they are gonna stay inside they should have company.. I wanna get two, I just don't know if it's a good idea. I never had just one cat. Do they get lonely?

I only have one (she's 5 months old now) and I've read a lot about keeping them inside as well. Apparently their life expectancy doubles when they only live indoors.
She's never alone, so I don't feel like she's lonely, and for now there's no way we can have two, but I'll get her a fuzzy friend as soon as possible.
I'd love to have her interacting with another cat.

Kitty cats.

One or two..but if you buy two, get them from the same place! And at the same time. Indoor cats MUST be stimulated well...play, play, play. If you're out a lot I'd suggest letting the cat out, to be honest.

You can't make my cat play.
Well, he's going to be 10 this year, so maybe he's not supposed to be very playful.
He prefers eating and licking anything with glue in it (I have no idea).

Wouldn't work. He can play for max 1 minute. Then he settles down somewhere and enjoys watching when I desperately throw toys around, he finds that more entertaining.

you know if you played with a cat with scrunched up paper would they start playing with any paper any where? 'my cat played with my homework and ruined it, honest miss!' cuz if you let dogs play with cuddly toys or old shoes they just think they can play with any shoe or toy...but maybe cats arent the same

if those two cats came in together and live together now and used to be homeless it may be better for them to stay together

baroness - what a lovely doggy!
