Who is John Hughes?
Those pictures indicate that I'm too young to know so this should not be held against me.

That's okay, but I would highly suggest watching them, they are classic!

Don't care for directors tbh they mean nothing to me, they might make or break the movie but I don't notice anything they do so I don't give a fuck (N)

As a movie nerd, this post makes me sad. :<

Some badass directors off the top of my head: Wes Anderson (The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tenenbaums, Darjeeling Limited) Quentin Tarantino (No list necessary) Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, RocknRolla) Kevin Smith (Dogma, Clerks 1 & 2,). There are more, but that was a list made on the fly.

These directors all have a very notable, unique style and feel that shows in all of their movies, setting them apart from generic hollywood flicks.

Alas, like I said above, I'm a movie nerd so I can't expect EVERYONE to appreciate a humble movie director in the same way I would.

you're right, but the ones you mentioned also [screen]write their stuff.
maybe Richard doesn't care much because he doesn't really watch movies by these kinds of directors...?

they can also make or break the film (I'm guessing people who watched Guy Ritchie's Revolver might agree), but still, there are a lot of people who infuse a great deal of uniqueness into the films they direct but don't write.

Steven Soderbergh didn't write Erin Brockovitch and his style is [i:2bgvn6bg]all over[/i:2bgvn6bg] it.

John Hughes wrote about his own young self in a way.
And he grew up, and his heart died.

(and please, how come [i:2bgvn6bg]no one[/i:2bgvn6bg] mentioned curly sue?)
