Other countries have a thread so why the hell not.

The Soundwave lineup was released last night and no Spinnerette. Rumours were wrong, if they're here in Feb it isn't for Soundwave. Unless they're added later on. If they aren't added to the Soundwave lineup, would they play a headlining show, or support one of the bands playing Soundwave on a sideshow...like EODM?

This year's line up is pretty shit. Would prefer them at BDO, but if they do come in Feb they'll miss it.

Yeh by the time BDO hits Perth it probably is February. It's usually in Sydney around Australia Day. Would be kinda weird to play BDO in just one state.

Spinnerette, EODM and Them Crooked Vultures should just do a triple show. I cant remember if soundwave usually has a big second announcement... Either way hope to jebus for a Brisbane sideshow.

Yup it's been said February they'll head here so hopefully it happens.

Yeah I can't remember what the second announcement was like last year. I kinda hope they don't play Soundwave, I wanna see them in a small-ish venue, up close and personal etc.

Ooh awesome. Spinnerette, EODM and Them Crooked Vultures here around the same time would be v v v cool.

Looks like it'll be announced in 6 days when Them Crooked Vultures will be here.

TCV are playing the Hordern on Australia Day. Wish I could go, can't afford it.

Wonder if Spinnerette will be hear closer to the start of Feb then if they're still coming then.

Yeah, they're playing Challenge here (crap venue) I've heard it's gonna be $100, even if Spinnerette are supports I can't afford that.

I hate it when I can't afford to go, esp. when i haven't even really been to many gigs this year. Should've known it'd be pricey though. I just didn't think it'd be that much.

Here's just hoping Spinnerette play a headlining show and tix are cheap-ish.

Second announcement for Soundwave, no Spinnerette.

Guess they definitely aren't playing a festival. Just hope they do actually get here in Feb.

I'm sorta glad they aren't playing Soundwave, EODM are the only band I'm actually interested in seeing.

Still hope they do get announced as TCV supports though. I would pay the $100 for both... (plus I have a new job to pay for it haha)

Yeah me too, really didn't wanna have to go to Soundwave.

I guess I would too, don't know where I'd get the $110 but for both of them I'd fork it out somehow.

wooo i think there is still a chance they might be here for soundwave, they have to announce like two more bands still, one is apparently not a huge band, with a one word name, heres hoping, know its a long shot but im hoping none the less.

I would still rather see them with TCV tbh.

Because I'm not going to Soundwave. lol And I doubt there'd be a sideshow in Perth if they did

Yeah either way, on their own or with TCV. Not going to Soundwave either.

Just hope they announce what they're doing soon.

Just saw that!! So definately not supporting TCV then, shame.

And probably not Soundwave either, as that is in Feb (only Perth is in March).

Bit of a shame they won't be part of Soundwave because I decided that would be my big festival for 2010 over the rubbish BDO line-up. I just hope that when they come to Oz they include Perth, because I'd be heartbroken to miss out on seeing Brody again - when the Distillers came as the support for QOTSA, they pulled out of playing Perth at the last minute to play their own shows in the Eastern states.

Then the next time QOTSA came I could actually see Brody hanging out at the side of the stage - it took me a little while to figure out if it was her but then she turned sideways and you could see the baby bump. It was seriously so distracting, I think I spent more time looking at her than the band. And wanting to yell out 'COME OUT AND SING SOMETHING' but the polite part of me thought that yelling at a pregnant woman might be a little rude.

Oh and first post. *waves*

Maybe they will next album?

Hey vladimpalerstyle, nice name. Hope they go to Perth for you. If they come all that way and don't do a full country tour it'd be kind of a waste. Who knows though.

So...

The Zoo, Brisbane
The Factory, Sydney
The Corner Hotel, Melbourne
The Amplifier, Perth

Aussies please help! Am flying over from NZ for one (or two) of these, which ones are particularly good venues? Do you think the Melb one will be best as it's a hometown crowd for her? Decisions, decisions...

That is the best news ever. And they're playing exactly one week after my birthday! So if I'm really struggling to scrape up the cash I can just put it on my birthday list. :P

Yeah that's weird.

Love when the venue sells their own tickets, and Ticketek sells them as well so you can see how much Ticketek rip you off.

You are? That sucks. I'd be the same if I bought YYY's tickets. Just don't really wanna go on my own.

Most probably. My usual gig buddy is off to Melbourne next year. But since tickets are only $50 I'm hoping to convince someone.

I would go to YYYs alone, anything to see them, I did it in 06!! lol

It's pretty depressing that the YYYs are only playing Southbound here. That 2006 show was incredible and I'd love to see them again but it's not worth a trip to Busselton. Especially the prospect of having to camp again... the only time I went to Southbound, the people in the tent next to ours brought a guitar. And thought it appropriate to play it, badly, all night long. I wanted to kill and kill again.

I know. But I'm pretty much willing to put up with anything to see them again. I wish it wasn't Southbound either, it's such a hassle. Might have to wear earplugs when I sleep then!

If YYY's were playing a smaller venue I'd consider going alone but they aren't. Will keep trying to find someone to go with and just hope they don't sell out before then.
