Considering how badly Grindhouse did at the box office compared to what was expected, I didn't think they'd bother with Machete, but who knows. It's listed as filming in IMDB, although that isn't always right. I don't think I'd go see it if Lindsay Lohan really is in it....unless there's a good chance she'll be killed off.

Schweiger was one of the reasons I went to see it, I've seen him in a movie and in Bella Block and wanted to know how he would do in an international film.

I'm sorry I'm not impressed by a director, who has built up a career by producing "edgy" movies. Except, no one seems to have told him that cramming the word "fuck" and copious amounts of blood and violence does not make you "edgy." Dude hasn't made a decent film since 1997.

Kill Bill and his Grindhouse movie were all style over substance. He's far from the genius he is hailed as.

I'm not being 'haughty'. I'm voicing an opinion, albiet in an exaggerated manner. Also, being "the minority" does not make me wrong... there's no such thing as right or wrong in these things.

Also, the fact that it attained the coveted number 1 position is no indication of quality... Meet The Spartans also hit number 1. Basically, all I'm saying is that I think the man is incredibly over-rated. At the very least, like a few other directors, he's become a parody of himself.

Anyways. Tarantino is full of shit but I like his movies plenty.

I never said you were wrong, dude. And I'd say wondering why the "man is still being paid" is a rather haughty comment.

Fact is, most people like the movie, hitting number one or not. Regardless, you're the minority. Like it or not.

I think of Hollywood movies these days and their lack of originality with their sequels and remakes. And then think of Quinten, mainstream and still keeping it real. In the midst of Mall Cop and the Proposal, I'm glad he's making movies.
