Are you tired of our board being hit by all this awful spam? Well we at Spinnerettemusic.com feel the same way. We have tried numerous things to avoid the spammers and it seems that they always find a way in. So we’ve decided to launch a new Spinnerette Community Board in hopes that this new bulletin board software will have better security to ensure the least amount of spam.

In order to complete the conversion to the new board and maintain all the previous posts and your user names, we will be shutting the current bulletin board down from Sunday, September 27th at 8pm EST to Monday, September 28th at 8pm. At that time members may login to their accounts by following these 5 steps:

1. Go to Spinnerettemusic.com and click on the “COMMUNITY” button on the nav-bar.

2. Once on the new bulletin board, click on the “LOGIN” button.

3. When asked to enter your Username and Password, click on “I forgot my password”.

4. Enter your current Username and Email in the fields provided.

5. Shortly after you will receive an email providing you with a link to activate your account. You will also be given a replacement password which you can use to Login.

We apologize for this short blip, but it will be worth it in the longrun!

We're abandoning this board and getting another one or we're keeping this board and we just have to reset our passwords??

Hopefully it won't be too confusing for everybody...we will keep the same username? Should we just create a new one if we want to?

I think it makes sense. There's a new board, that'll have all the old posts, and we use the same usernames. We just need to activate our old accounts on the new board by getting a password sent to our emails.

On the 28ths after 8pm, go onto the bands main site (www.spinnerettemusic.com), then click on the wee image for the messageboard...go to login, and hit "i forgot my password." Do what it says, then once you get the new details sent to you, sign in with them =)

so on Monday I come here via spinnerette.com/community, then instead of logging in click the "forgot password" option?

everything is still the same. no need to panic. this guy took everything over to the next board so we can still enjoy previous and future posts with everything still intact. i think we should all appreciate this and thank chris wardman for doing this for all of us.

but may i add mr wardman. i've done the' "forgot password" option and it says "your account has not been activated yet"
is this a malfunction? or is this just not available until its release tomorrow?

I'm kinda confused now.

So, can we not log in at all the 27th-28th...will the board [this and the new] both be down for that whole day, and then we log in the next day like you say in the steps...?

To me it seems like this board will be down during that time and you can start using the new one

The new boards are really slow too, it takes forever to scroll around and the posts take a long time to show up. The old boards weren't like this...

I can't figure out how to change the password from this whacked out one I got assigned to the one I WANT.

Anyone know how? Can't find it. Tried FAQ, too.

Go to user control panel up in the top right. Then on the left hand side under options click profile, then edit account settings & there ya go!

I deleted the email address I originally signed up with so I can't retrieve a password. Oh well. No big loss.

i hate how theres no quick link to the latest post, and then we cannot quick reply either.
it takes double the time to read and reply stuff now!

it finally sent me a new address but the e-mail ended up in the spam folder.

I prefer the old boards I never gave a shit about the spam, but I shouldn't complain about these, no telling who might get their feelings hurt and do something lame.

Does anyone else feel that this version is much slower?
It takes ages to scroll down etc.

My username was registered with my old college email, which expired a year ago, so I couldn't get it. I tried to make a new account with Ladyluck but it came up with "username already in use"

I know, by me! Anyway, I have a full stop now.

Took me about 50 attempts but i got one to work. I still don't know what KiB is...

I guess we no longer have profile photos? Just avatars?
