I think in all countries extreme groups got more votes than before. The Finnish party that opposes EU etc. got a MEP too. Its chairman got the biggest amount of votes in the country.

My wonderful country also elected an Orthodox priest.. No one knows what his policies are =D

Apparently so.

Right wing appears to be popular this year.

That's because, quite frankly, left wing sucks.
No one wants to hear "workers vs. owners"-bullshit anymore. But the parties hold on to their old policies like the Catholic church holds on to the writings of the Bible.
I'm not saying that right wing policies are better than left wing policies; what I mean is that right wing parties have managed to create a message which appeals to people and creates confidence, whereas the socialist parties are repeatedly forced to explain election failures by "We couldn't get our message across".

I do think that it's a bit pointless to make generalisations about "left" and "right", though. They are very different in different countries. By Finnish standards, New Labour would be a proper right wing party, whereas our right wing National Coalition party would be viewed as quite socialist by the American Republicans.

I love politics.

I really don't understand. Sure we're democratic so let them have their say but they don't have anything to give democracy so why the hell were they even allowed to run?

The little smirks on news readers faces when they interview him or talk about the bnp oo it's so funny...he was well out smarted by Ranvir Singh on North West Tonight :) I love those protesters :D

For any given task in Britain there are more men than are needed. Strong unions keep them there in Fleet Street, home of some London’s biggest dailies, it is understood that when two unions quarrel over three jobs, the argument is settled by giving each union two. Thru means 33 per cent over manning, 33 per cent less productivity than could be obtained.
A reporter who has visited plants throughout Europe has an impression that the pace of work is much slower here. Nobody tries tm hard. Tea breaks do matter and are frequent. It is hard to measure intensity of work, but Britons give a distinct impression of going at their tasks in a more leisurely way.wow power leveling[/url:kohbc5ur],
But is all this so terrible? It certainly does not improve the gross national product or output per worker. Those observant visitors, however, have noticed something else about Britain. It is a pleasant place.
Street crowds in Stockholm. Paris and New York move quickly and silently heads down, all in a hurry. London crowds tend to walk at an easy pace (except in the profitable, efficient City, the financial district).
world of warcraft power leveling[/url:kohbc5ur],
Every stranger is struck by the patient and orderly way in which Britons queue for a bus; if the saleswoman is slow and out of stock she will likely say,‘oh dear, what a pity’; the rubbish collectors stop to chat and call the housewives“Luv”. Crime rises here as in every city but there still remains a gentle tone and temper that is unmatched in Berlin, Milan or Detroit. It short, what is wrong with Britain may also be what is right. Having reached a tolerable standard, Britons appear to be choosing leisure over goods.56. What happens when disputes over job opportunities arise among British unions?A) Thirty-three per cent of the workers will be out of workB) More people will be employed than necessaryC) More jobs will be created by the governmentD) The unions will try to increase productivity.57.

What does the reporter who has visited plants throughout Europe think about Britain?A) Tea breaks do not affect the intensity of work in BritainB) Britons do their work in an unhurried sort of wayC) The pace of work in Continental Europe is much slower than in BritainD) Britons give the impression of working intensively58.“The breaks do matter” ( Para.2 Line 2) indicates tha they are an important aspect of the British way of lifeB) they are greatly enjoyed by British workersC) they can be used by the workers as excuse to take time off from workD) they help the workers to be on good terms with each other59. The word“this” (Para.3 Line.1) refers
age of conan power leveling[/url:kohbc5ur],to the fact tha there are more men on any given job than are neededB) 33 per cent over manning leads to 33 per cent less productivityC) it is difficult to measure the intensity of workD) Britons generally do not want to work too hard60. By“what is wrong with Britain may also be what is right” (Para.6, Line.1) the author means to say tha quarrels between unions will help create jobsB) a leisurely way of life helps Britons increase productivityC) the gentle tone and temper of the people in Britain makes it a pleasant placeD) Britons will not sacrifice their leisure to further in crease productivityPassage

I bet polish people really confuse the BNP 'get out of our country you white?... bastards?'

The Equality and Human Rights Commission, is taking legal action against them for racism. Dunno the outcome though.

see I'm not even listening to whats being said about them anymore, they're a joke and all the news readers etc see them as that.

the BNP are nazis to me.

it wasn't just yorkshire, it was this part of the country that got them the seat, up north, because the recession hit worse in places like this & general stupidity.

Everyone's still going on about how Nick Griffin's appearance on Question Time. I don't agree with his policies, and think he made an ass of himself on the show, but the episode was a joke.

They pretty much got him on to demonise him. We all know he's a wanker, but they didn't talk about anything that needed talking about. Like maybe addressing the problems that got them elected in the first place?

To me it pretty much gave me no faith in ANY of the politicians. I already decided for myself I didn't support the BNP in any way, I didn't need to hear the assumedly best political minds in the UK sitting there saying "racism = bad, fascism = bad".

Sod off. Tell me something useful.

We're to blame.

Everyone is so bloody afraid of being named a "racist" that no one dares to even mention the downsides of immigration, globalisation etc. Obviously there are negative effects as well, but one is not supposed to admit it. When everyone pretends that everything is perfect, these more radical politicians who are NOT afraid to speak up will suddenly seem more compelling to worried voters.

E.g. a Finnish MEP, Ben Zyskowicz, criticised our minister of immigration, Astrid Thors, of not taking the negative effects of immigration seriously; her response was a simple "You're a racist". Which seems quite unlikely, as Zyskowicz's own parents are immigrants..

The BNP have absolutely ZILCH chance of ever getting control of the country, purely because of the way we vote. If it was done by proportional representation then maybe. The thing is the BNP have had so much going their way - economic meltdown, MPs expenses, Labour being shyte etc. so its no wonder theyre taking advantage of it. The places where theyre making grounds though is where there is real tension and very bad problems. We are a democratic country, so itd be wrong to ban the BNP. What would this achieve? There are more extreme political parties than the BNP running in the UK. Its only because Nick Griffin is a good speaker and very well educated that they get so much attention.

Obviously the paralles between Nazi Germany and the BNP in our country are well, extremely similar, the doings of Hitler and the Nazis are an event that lessons have been learned from in Western Europe, at least I hope so. Were always going to get extreme people and politicians, as thats their views. Of course their views are compeltely off the wall, but what can we do about it? Unfortunately we have Neo-Nazis in every country.
