well, i liked courtney love. then i was listening to yahoo's rancid radio, and suddenly heard a woman's voice, thought it was courtney love. i wanted to know what the song's name was, but then i noticed it was the distillers. and i decided to find out more about them.

I remember in some interview of some crappy band
they mentioned the distillers, and how they thought Brody was hot, and blah blah blah
so, I googled them, downloaded them, bought cd, fell in love haha

Beat Your Heart Out was on one of the Tony Hawk games a few years back, when I was more into video games. I fell in love with Brody's voice and decided to check some more stuff of theirs out.

The Distillers opened up for AFI at the brickworks in Chico, CA back in like 2002. I had a really good time at the show and thats kind of how I was exposed to them. I saw them again in Sacramento a few months later. Our local zine The synthesis [url=http://www.synthesis.net/:5mb32045]http://www.synthesis.net/[/url:5mb32045] has had a picture of the band on the back page of their mag. ever since.

Was at a mates house, and we were all fucking about, and then this song came on the cd player, and i was like 'wooooah, what is that!?!'
Found the box of the disc that was playing, and found that it was a band called The Distillers. The song was Sing Sing Death House. Loved it.
So from then on i just searched for anyhting i could about them....discovered they had two albums, the singer was actualy female, and she was stunning with an amazing voice.
Then it just went from there.

Someone sent me one of their songs.

But before they did that, I saw a picture of Brody in Elle magazine, and I was like, whoa, she's pretty, and it was like a list of her favorite songs or something. and then I found out who it was.

actually the first time I heard them I thought it was shit, I even offered to dispose of the CD. Then, like a year later someone showed me the City of Angels video and I fell in love. I went out and bought all 3 cds and listened to coral fang and sing sing death house over and over again for like a year straight. I was never much on s/t. I liked gypsy rose lee and that was basically it. I love it now though. All 3 of them that is.

I think had i heard City Of Angels first, i would have disliked them, and probably never given them a second chance cause i'm like that. City of Angels is just one of my least favorite songs.

ha yeah. kitty radio, well most of the people on there, hate brody.
but ironically they all needed to post songs, so we could see how much brody was "ripping courtney off"

they're so different, I don't get it.

I saw them live.

I went to the Exit/In in Nashville to see Starflyer 59 (God bless Jason Martin) and saw a flyer for an upcoming Distillers show. I fell in love with their sound. [/END STORY]

I just remembered how I heard about the distillers. i was looking through a different forum, and there was a thread with a picture of brody with a "she used to be hot" type comment below it. then i looked her up on Wikipedia. i can't remember what happened after that though. i just remember SSDH being the first album I got.

it was the coloured version of this picture

City of Angels was on a mix CD a friend gave me and then I borrowed Sing Sing Death House off him quite a bit later. At first I didn't like anything on it except City of Angels, but over time I've come to absolutely love it.
