i'm more about blur than oasis.

i love oasis! never liked Blur. my fav song has to be Champagne Supernova. Speaking of Britpop does anyone here like the Verve?

yeah the verve are great. urban hymns classic album. im def more oasis than blur.
morning glory got me into oasis when i was really young but my fave song is force of nature
i dont think they released it as a single its on heathen chemistry. good band live too i saw them in 2005 at V.

Used to be just 'eh, Oasis, yeah.' but I gave their stuff a proper listen a few months ago and now I absolutely fucking adore it.
Most people say Oasis are shit, but it's not actually Oasis that are shit it's Noel and Liam that are egotistical arseholes. Ignore them and listen to the music, you're well away.

i got into oasis along time ago but i just liked the songs &i didnt know who it was but my boyfriend told me who sung the songs i like and iv liked them ever sence.

i have all the blur albums but they didnt do so much for me. i like listening to them but i can go without them. Oasis was my first and only love. I met Noel and Liam, they are assholes to the press but really sweet to fans. I grabbed a drink with them and hung out with Gem and Liam for a bit. Noel joined us later, and he was incredibly nice and funny. We ended up at some random pub and dancing to an old jukebox and they were telling random stories about robbie williams.

The Masterplan and Be Here Now are really good and never given proper credit.

every artists steals off another, they were just honest about it. Keith Richards borrows from early jazz musicians and newer bands rip off older bands too.

I just think Britpop was a great music movement. The music label Creation had a bunch of good artists on it. I think Ride were also on Creation, which are great.

There is no word for my jealousy. Oasis was my first love, and although my interest is mellowing as time pass by, i have a very special place in my musical heart for their music. But the first two years of my adoration was complete madness... They spellbound me like nothing had ever done.

You can't pick just one favourite oasis tune, you gotta make it at least a top 5.

it was when i was in atlanta...and we got backstage passes from a techie that hit on my friend. we were staying at the same hotel and we met at the hotel bar and then went to a pub...played the jukebox.

i love the stone roses, im surprised some people on here know them. their self-titled blew me away and till this day i play it all the time.

That was the album i found. I think its absolutely brilliant.

It was my dad who got me into them actually, a few years ago i was getting into Oasis and he told me to listen to them cause he thought they were awesome.

The guy from Blur is a member of the Gorillaz. Murdoc is ALSO a member of the Gorillaz and he said he fucking hates Oasis.

haha Blur has hated Oasis since 94' and Oasis hates Blur when their singles were fighting for the top spot. There was personal reasons but also competition made them hate each other. Blur and Oasis are forever tied to each other b/c of the music movement they created BritPop.

Oasis and Blur were around at the same time, same genre, although Blur were a bit more pop than Oasis.

My theory is that the Gorillaz were formed as a mask for the guy from Blur (Matt something, can't remember) to make more money using a different sound without being accused of betraying his roots or whatever bullshit people might bitch about.

Oasis were more guitar sounding while Blur were true Britpop. You should get the movie Live Forever...its about the pop culture in England and mostly music's impact on the election.

Yeah but Gorillaz also has the other guy from Tank Girl. They even said it on TV when they had that show about the Gorillaz, it introduced the two and explained that one was from Tank Girl and the other was from Blur.

They're real plot was something about creating the first "virtual band."

im not a fan of gorillaz...not my style.

i always enjoy Noel's interview he's very witty and has a good sense of humor.

Everyone's a sell out, in a way.

it just depends on a bands bottom line. like Oasis wanted to be in the mainstream, Noel openly admitted he wanted to go big or go home. so for them thats not selling out. For some bands yes, it just depends on a bands beliefs.

Be Here Now is one of my favorite records of all time. There are so many killer tracks on there...its a solid album.

this is some bad news!

Oasis drummer Zak Starkey is unlikely to perform with the band again after falling out with singer/guitarist Noel Gallagher.

According to The Sun today (May 12), Starkey is highly unlikely to play with the band on any forthcoming live dates, and his involvement in their forthcoming new album, recently completed, will be his last with Oasis.

The newspaper quotes a source close to the band as saying: "There have been arguments with Noel Gallagher and general disagreements."

No official announcement about a possible departure or replacement have been made by the band.

The band are due to embark on a US tour in August, and are rumoured to be announcing further live plans soon.
