Right now at school i'm working towards an Art course at University which leads to a Visual Arts degree course.

I kind of want to do it, but i'm starting to feel like i'll be wasting my money doing a course that my heart isn't really in.

I know for a fact that most people in high school and University/College have no idea what they want to do with their lives, but nnot me, i know exactly what I want to do with my life. I want to play in a band and do everything that comes with it, touring, recording, press, photo shoots absolutely everything.

I don't really want to do that in New Zealand though, i actually really want to live in Los Angeles and start my band there.

I kinda just want some advice as to what I should do, or maybe you could help me figure out the pro and cons of whatever decision i make?

It's good to have dreams, but I wouldn't count on that band thing. There are so many bands out there, some talented and some less talented, and almost all of them want to make it. There's a lot of competition, and even if you managed to come out with an album that is succesful, it doesn't mean it would be like that for the rest of your life. So many bands come and go these days. It's advisable to have a plan B.

there are shittens of bands out there, especially in L.A.. And of coarse they all wanna make it, thats serious competition. Intimidating competition.

Do you think someone from New Zealand with only a High School education could get a Visa to live and work in the US?

I'm guessing the answer's No, but just wondering what you guys think.

You should try to do one of those exchange student things or study abroad things and come over to see if you'll like it.

Yeah, i've definately thought about that. I wanted to do a student exchange, but it costs so much money and you only get a choice of the general area you want to stay at, which leaves where you end up almost completely to chance.

I can always save up and visit next summer, or I can save up and convince my parents to let me go on a student exchange.

oh that could suck, You could end up somewhere like Tennessee, pffttt...

my parents said no about student exchange, so looks like i'm gonna have to save up and go myself.
