Not songs you prefer. Not the song you think is most punx.

Songs that mean something to you..

For me; cheese time, it's

Beat your heart out.

& Oh Serena.

World Come's Tumblin'. It was the first song I ever heard by them about eight years ago (maybe nine, I'm not sure). The song was on a CD sampler. It was the only one I'd heard by them and didn't really know who they were, but I played that three song sampler everywhere I went. I went to a show and heard one of the bands playing that song, it was them. I stood up there and watched the beautiful four-piece band and (cheesefesting it with Vicky) knew my life had changed.
Lord, I had no idea...

I'd have loved to see them that early..

I never gave reasons for my choices.

Beat your heart out; Douglas. It's that simple. I met him on a Distillers board, it's kind of fitting for "our" song to be a Distillers song..and that song was just perfect.

Oh Serena; It's just always stood out to me. I love it, so so raw. And it definately helped me through some shit a few years back.

Definately.

The whole of Sing Sing Deathhouse was for when I had had a really shitty day and well espeically Sick of it All!

Drain the Blood became more meaningful as time went by, I think cuz sometimes you don't think about lyrics straight away 'All my friends are murder' espeically and 'I never met a pearl like you who could shimmer and rot at the same time through' and also thats a clever lyric. And also 'For Tonight you're only here to know'.

Red Carpet & Rebellion: First song I ever heard by them...2001. So raw, so fast, I was immediately hooked, and that started it all.

Oh Serena: My favorite Distillers song since 2001, still to this day. Can't really explain it.

Drain the Blood: I feel like this would be the most typical answer. All I've got to say is...those lyrics...how the song is put together, musically and vocally...pure power.

the blackest years...and my world comes tumblin' down, the first songs i heard by them. at that point in my life the songs seemed so applicable to me. after that i was utterly inlove with the distillers.
desperate is another one that i can listen over and over again. its personal to an extent but overall i just love the song.

For Tonight You're Only Here to Know, because it reminds me of Finland, travelling by train when there's nothing but darkness, snow and pine trees around, legs aching from too much walking and brains hyperactive from too much Coca-cola and not enough energy. One of my favourite moments/feelings in the world. (I once listened to this song on repeat for the last 15 minutes of the journey which is why it has this effect.. There are quite a lot of other songs, too, but they're not by The Distillers)

Love is paranoid. It keeps me strong I guess.

Girlfixer. It has gotten sooooo much anger out of me. Screaming to that song is the best thing I can do when I'm pissed off.

Hall Of Mirrors, when one of my old exes and i were breaking up and i liked the coral fang album so much because it really coincided with what i was feelin and that song was a hitter.. i still adore the album, all their albums, i love young girls too because it reminds me a lot of my best friend cuz i was so tight with her but like.. now we're just not and she's always done things i didn't like and that hurt her but now i can't protect her anymore.. Lordy Lordy as well it's so powerful I like the Sourpuss song Mattress too, listened to it everyday when going through a breaku I don't know I love all the distillers songs they all touch me in a certain place because i've been listening to the distillers throughout my teens and have gone through a lot of shit and it's a good soundtrack for a teenager in pain.

I really don't know SHIT about the Distillers. A friend of mine had a Distillers song on her LJ once (I wasn't even listening to it, i had the volume off) and one day I saw "Beat Your Heart Out" on TV. I didn't realize Brody was a woman until about half way through the song maybe. No offense. I fell in love witht hat song, and my sister bought the Coral Fang cd and gave it to me. I was in love.

Sick of it all - One of the first songs I heard by The Distillers, and it just expanded my mind completely.

Blackheart & Hate me - I was angry and I felt like she knew what I was going through.

The Gallow is God - Something about it messes with my insides and makes me want to cry. -_-"

World Comes Tumblin' totally broke me in to punk and let the flood gates in. "Do you speak delinquently?" Yes. " You want an answer?" yes. "are you fucking bored?" yes. "word tumbling down?" yes. It was just really fucking validating at the time.

OH and the spiderman cover that song cuts really deep into my emotions or something.....

the entire s.s.d.h. album means a lot to me. when i first heard it, i could relate every song to at least one aspect of my then 13-year-old life and still can now 6 years later, really. it's one of the few c.d.'s i own that i never really have to skip a song on.
