Courtney Love made a 3am trip to the emergency unit of LA's Cedars Sinai hospital complaining of laryngitis.

Love checked into the hospital on Friday (May 2) morning after allegedly complaining about throat and chest pains.

Doctors asked her about drugs and made her see a psychiatrist.

On the way home, despite her sore throat, she stopped to buy cigarettes. An onlooker told TMZ : “She looked pretty worn out".

In a statement it was confirmed Love's was diagnosed with strep throat

Courtney Love has denied reports that she has scrapped her new album.

The singer claimed that some rearrangements and retakes were being made, but that the work she has done with collaborators Linda Perry and Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan still remains.

Writing on her MySpace blog, Love said: "No 'scrapping' is going on, simply a few retakes – especially since all those recordings were leaked onto the net and I knew if we played some of those songs live that would happen – so rearrangements on a couple of things have happened.

"Don't assume you know any songs on this album, some may sound somewhat familiar or even have the same titles and arrangements [on] a few. A few are just precious diamonds I wouldn't touch but there's tons of new ones which you have not a clue about – I know 'cause I haven't finished lyrics and I'm days away."

Love also explained that the album, set to be titled 'Nobody's Daughter', will be handed into her record label by mid-July at the latest.

I do not know you personally but let me offer you some advice. After the 5th nose job, stop. Not only do you look haggard you look like a cracked out hawk. There comes a certain point where Michael Jackson comparisons are inevitable. Also, stop fucking around with this album, you haven't had a decent album out since 99', your validity in the music scene is wanning exponentially. I think you are talented but your demos really suck...improve those. My parting words are no more plastic surgery, dont do drugs, dont smoke, write honest music and [i:1b7yan4l]maybe[/i:1b7yan4l] learn some more chords.
